Startup Institute Boston's Student Exposé

Product and Design

Students in the Product and Design track are focused on user centered design techniques - learning tools like contextual research, rapid ideation, front-end development and visual design. They refine their skills for creating meaningful experiences by learning practical design practices, such as developing personas, concept prototyping, user testing, and product management.

Web Development

Students in the Web Development track are not only taught how to code with Ruby on Rails and Javascript, but also how to engage with a dynamic engineering team. They develop a solid understanding of key languages, frameworks and deployment techniques for cloud-based solutions.

Sales & Business Development

Students in the Sales & Business Development track learn the complete sales process through hands-on experience with pipeline development, customer relationship management, and lead generation. In addition to experience with hard skills like CRMs and creating sales scripts, students learn how to be valuable members of a startup team by translating what is learned from customers in the field back to their designers and engineers.

Technical Marketing

Students in the Technical Marketing track learn the fundamentals for marketing in the digital age. They develop a deep understanding for performance and content marketing with a focus on generating insights from data analytics. Specific topics covered include methods for performing social media audits, mapping customer segmentation, improving SEO, copywriting and content infrastructure.
