Howard A. Tullman is the CEO of 1871 in Chicago where over 340 digital startups are building their businesses every day. Mr. Tullman has over 45 years of start-up, management, IPO and turn-around experience. He also has an extensive operations background in web development, online services, large-scale information assembly and delivery systems, database design and implementation and the development, creation and production of all types and formats of multimedia, computer games and audio/video digital content.
He has designed and developed GUI and natural user interfaces, interactive and immersive games and instruction systems and other electronic entertainments, training products and services, as well as other information-based products and services in a variety of fields including automotive, insurance, CRM, employment, real estate, consumer goods and social media.
Mr. Tullman is the General Managing Partner of G2T3V, LLC. and Chicago High-Tech Investors – both early-stage venture funds. He is a member of Mayor Emanuel’sChicagoNEXT Innovation Council; President Preckwinkle’s New Media Council; and Governor Quinn’s Illinois Innovation Council. He is an adviser to many technology businesses and an adjunct professor at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
In addition to founding more than a dozen high-tech companies, creating thousands of new jobs, and training dozens of talented managers who have gone on to lead their own ventures, Tullman has already achieved liquidity in excess of $1 billion for his businesses, including CCC Information Services, Imagination Pilots, Coin Dealer Services, Tunes.com, Worldwide Xceed Group, Kendall College, Tribeca Flashpoint Academy and The Cobalt Group.
