I’m a self-driven designer who loves a good challenge. I received my BA in psychology from Boston University, but my heart told me that the creative field is where I truly belong. The transition was not easy, but my extensive background in visual arts and digital illustrations helped make it happen. During my undergraduate years, I was also able to learn basic HTML/CSS while working as web assistant for multiple websites at the university. Having worked as a graphic designer for several years now, I realize I love designing interfaces the most. Thus, the stage is set for me to become an UIUX designer. Leveraging all the skills I've collected—psychology, design, coding—and a passion for beautiful user-centered designs, I am excited to transition into an UIUX role.

What skills do you bring to a project team?

I have strong technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite, especially in Photoshop and Illustrator. I can also wireframe and prototype using Justinmind.

Form or function?

Both! I think form and function should work together to help users achieve their goals, which will then allow the business to reach their goals. My job is to bring thoughtful form and function into interfaces to make both the users and businesses happy.

Why do you learn a little bit of everything?

I believe great design comes from understanding, and that can only be learned through trying everything out. Design is different from art, but that doesn't mean they aren't related. In fact, I found that learning to draw helps train the brain to look for details, and learning to paint sharpened my eye for choosing colors. As an aspiring UIUX designer, I think it's important to also understand how both front-end and back-end coding works. It will help open up the mind to better ideas when you understand the capabilities of the technology. I strive to be a well-rounded designer because that's the only way to be an amazing designer.
