Week 1
Get introduced to the curriculum, start learning the guiding principles of web development and the rails application structure. Attend alumni panels and goals & action plans will be set.
Week 2
Become familiar with web architecture and be introduced development methodologies such as agile.
Week 3
Start building an app using rails and also learn about debugging tools while getting introduced to tools used in a dev environment.
Week 4
Continue working on building a Rails application and begin code reviews and the peer review process.
Week 5
Learn all about syncing systems through application program interfaces (API) and learn about REST & CRUD.
Week 6
Get familiar with the cyber-security ecosystem and how authentication & validation works while getting familiar with web development testing.
Week 7
Focus on problem solving processes, QA, and how to set up mailers & dashboards.
Week 8
Learn about authorization and web technologies on the client side to create asynchronous web applications such as AJAX.
Week 9
Understand how styling and catching up works for web development. Code reviews will continue through week 11.
Week 10
It's time to build. You'll be using the resources you've learned over the past 10 weeks to start building on Rails.
Week 11
Get feedback on code through code reviews while learning critical career skills, including how to negotiate salary & promotions.
Week 12
Wrap up and showcase new technical skills. Meet & present in front of hundreds of Boston’s top tech companies at the Talent Expo.
